Most students attending summer school are primarily concerned with learning or improving their English.
Fluency in English is becoming an increasingly essential asset in today's world. At ACCORD ISS much emphasis is placed upon fluency and communication, thus building confidence in the language.
Tuition takes place for fifteen hours per week, in small classes with a maximum of 12 students. This enables students to receive intensive, personal attention. The learning process continues after lessons have finished, as the students integrate with each other. For each course, the number of students who speak the same language is restricted. Therefore, English is the only common language and everyone is encouraged to speak it at all times.
Every students' knowledge of English is assessed on arrival in the form of a written and oral test, to ensure placement at the appropriate level.
ACCORD ISS accepts students of all abilities, from beginners to advanced learners. Each student's progress is monitored throughout his/her stay and there is a formal presentation and prize giving at the end of their course. Students are presented with a certificate of attendance and a report from their English teacher.
Our aim is to promote an atmosphere where children are open minded, friendly, inquisitive, well mannered and considerate. With these qualities they will enjoy taking full advantage of the international friendship opportunities offered.
English at Home - During their final lessons all students receive advice from their teachers on how they can continue to improve their English when they return home. They also receive resources to enable them to do this.
When we return your child to you at the end of their stay, we hope they will feel enriched by their experience with us and will look forward to returning to meet friends made at ACCORD ISS the following year, as so many do.
If you would like your chid to attend a more intensive programme, consolidate his or her new skills, we offer three extra hours of English tuition during which classes focus on Grammar & Vocabulary, Communication & Pronunciation, Reading & Writing.

It is possible for students to have extra English lessons - which take place outside of the normal timetabled lessons. These are normally taught on a 1:1 basis and incur extra cost. Please contact us if you are interested in extra lessons for your son or daughter.
