An Exciting Opportunity For Students Aged 16+

Location: The University Hall of Residence is situated at the Eastbourne campus of the University of Brighton within the favoured Meads area of Eastbourne, within easy walking distance of the seafront, the beautiful South Downs and town centre.

Facilities: The facilities at University Hall of Residence are first class. There is an excellent heated indoor swimming pool, Astroturf sports pitches, large indoor sports hall, gymnasium and tennis courts. There is a communal social area within the sports centre.

English Programme: University Hall of Residence is offered to at least intermediate level students aged 16-19 years who are looking for a more advanced English course that offers challenge and stimulation. There are 20 hours of English tuition per week. Lessons on one afternoon per week usually taken off campus to enhance learning in the classroom. Small classes with no more than 12 students per class.

Activities and Excursions: Two full day excursions, usually every Friday and Sunday. A trip to London is always included. A varied Sports and Social programme is on offer during afternoons and evening for students. It is possible to book specialist coaching in certain sports. We recognise that the 16+ age group appreciates flexibility and more independence, and students opting to stay at the University Hall of Residence do have the opportunity to take part in some unsupervised excursions in pairs or small groups (parental permission is required for this if a student is under the age of 18).

Accommodation and Welfare: Our professional and dedicated staff, many of whom return year after year, are chosen for their experience with older students and they ensure an exciting but safe environment. Students live in single study bedrooms with en-suite shower/toilet facilities. There are no more than 6/8 rooms per flatlet. Each flatlet has a communal kitchen with kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer and colour tv. There is a choice of food at mealtimes, including a vegetarian option. Fruit and salad are always available. Our staff are fully residential and live in the same accommodation as the students. They eat all meals with the students and share their activity and leisure time.

We aim to provide a memorable experience for our students, where they can make friends from all over the world while developing their English language skills and having fun. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful campus.
