This lesson will guide you through an up-to-date IELTS preparation course book. This lesson will help you to develop in all four parts of the exam while in-depth exam training will equip you with the techniques you need to achieve the score you want. We cover 'What to expect in the exam' and 'How to go about it' so you know what is being asked of you. The focus will be on developing grammar, academic vocabulary and word-building skills essential for the IELTS test.
After morning break you will develop your relevant skills for academic study even further by practising presentations, note-taking, understanding extensive academic texts, finding key information, writing assignments, listening to lectures and learning academic vocabulary. You will also practise exam techniques, strategies and study skills.
The resources used in this lesson are current IELTS supplementary exercises and authentic materials such as newspapers, the internet, reports and webinars.
In this lesson you will continue working through the IELTS Preparation course book as a class. Towards the end of the course the opportunity for independent study is offered, giving you time to concentrate on certain problem areas and helping you to become a more autonomous student.
In all lessons timed practice papers will be done on a weekly basis to help you understand the time given for each part of the exam, helping to prepare you fully for the exam.
We will provide support and guidance throughout the course in the form of fortnightly tutorials with your main teacher and daily monitoring and individual feedback.
Homework is given on a daily basis and is reviewed and checked at the beginning of every lesson with time for any questions, feedback or issues. We recommend students complete homework during our "Guided study” sessions.
