ACCORD ISS – EASTBOURNE CENTRE
For students aged 16+

English courses

The Eastbourne Centre welcomes students aged 16-22 from all over the world and offers them a unique opportunity to study English for up to 4 weeks every summer in the UK. Students are placed into a class of a maximum of 14 students of a similar age and a mix of nationality and gender, according to their level (Intermediate to Proficiency). Lessons cover all skills – reading, speaking, writing and listening – with strong emphasis on developing spoken fluency and confidence within a friendly and supportive classroom atmosphere. On the first morning of their stay, students will have a written and oral test to help determine which class / level they should go into.

Our programme offers students 20 hours of General English lessons per week spread over 5 mornings and 1 afternoon.

Students can also attend a 25 hour English course which includes our standard 20 hour General English lcourse and two 2.5 hours long workshops on 2 afternoons per week, where they can choose between:

  • Consolidation English workshop: an intensive English programme to boost students’ language skills. Maximum of 6 students per class, minimum 3.
  • Exam Preparation workshop (IELTS or Cambridge ESOL exams): a course to help students achieve the desired IELTS band or a higher grade in Cambridge ESOL Exams. Maximum of 6 students per class, minimum 3.

Please note: If students would like to sit the exam at the end of their stay, Accord-ISS will give them all the necessary information at the time of booking but students need to make the necessary arrangements with a Cambridge Exams approved centre in the UK or their home countries.
