Accommodation & Welfare
The luxurious bedrooms offer twin-bedded accommodation, most with French doors opening out on to a private balcony overlooking the sea. All have beautiful en-suite bathrooms. Single rooms may be available on request for an additional supplement.
All bed linen and duvet covers are provided, as well as bath and hand towels, which are changed daily. Every consideration will be given to any request to share bedrooms with a friend or relative but this cannot always be guaranteed.
Students will have tea/coffee making facilities in their rooms, as well as a flat screen LCD freeview TV with over 30 channels, air-conditioning, hairdryer, ironing station, telephone and safety deposit box for valuables. All students will have their own room keys. Any room service, telephone or bar bills will be charged by the Eastbourne Centre directly to the student AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE COURSE FEES.
Breakfast and lunch will take place in the centre restaurant, which offers a tasty traditional cuisine with several hot and cold choices available. Meals are a mixture of waiter service and buffet style. In the evenings, dinner will be provided at a local restaurant a few minutes' walk from the Eastbourne Centre. Vegetarian and all other dietary requirements are catered for.
There are various social seating areas within the Centre where students can relax with friends, including a large roof terrace with outstanding views of the English Channel, South Downs and Eastbourne. There is also a library if students prefer to be quiet and a small IT area where students can use the in-house computers to access the internet.
The Centre has WIFI connection throughout, including the bedrooms (included in the course fee). Students are welcome to bring laptops.
Qualified first aid staff are on site at all times. The local doctor's surgery is a few minutes away and the District Hospital (for more serious cases) is a five minute car journey. A laundry service is provided by our staff at least once a week.
Passports, pocket money and tickets can be looked after by the Course Director. If students prefer to keep their own possessions, they would do this at their own risk and we would recommend they keep them locked in their room safe at all times.
We welcome students of all creeds and cultures to our summer language course. The welfare and safety of our students is paramount to us and our experienced and well-trained staff will support your son or daughter throughout their stay at Eastbourne Centre. However, while we take our responsibilities extremely seriously, we do expect full co-operation from all students. The setting of this course offers students a higher level of freedom and independence and we ask parents to consider carefully before booking this Centre. If there are any doubts about your son or daughter's maturity, we would ask you to consider one of our other Centres, where the supervision is greater. We reserve the right to expel (send home) any student who disrupts the course or compromises the safety and integrity of others.
We passed our British Council inspection with points of excellence.
