Accommodation & Welfare
Students are accommodated in comfortable dormitories. There are some single and mainly two to four bedded rooms. There are plenty of toilets and showers. Parents may request for their child to share with a particular friend and this will be considered but cannot always be guaranteed. There are also a number of single, and some twin, en-suite bedrooms. These superior rooms have proved very popular. If your son or daughter wishes to have their own bathroom, please tick the appropriate box on the booking form.
There is a social room in each boarding house, with kitchen, where students can relax - watch TV/DVDs, play pool, listen to music etc. This is usually the place where students have their hot drink and snack before bed. Our professional and experienced staff are residential within the boarding houses to ensure safety and 24 hour supervision.
All meals are taken in the excellent dining hall at Bethany. The Catering Manager ensures a good choice of food at mealtimes, including 2 hot dishes and 1 hot vegetarian dish, plus salads and fruit. Special dietary requirements are catered for.
Students' personal laundry is done 5 times a week.
Students of all creeds and cultures are welcomed as our aim is to create a summer school which can truly be described as International.
First-Aid staff are on site at all times and any medical problems can be dealt with at the local Doctor's Surgery in Goudhurst. There is an excellent hospital in the nearby town of Tunbridge Wells for more serious cases. Our staff always accompany students to the Doctor's surgery or hospital.
Passports, tickets and pocket money must be handed in to the Course Director on arrival. These items will be locked securely away. There is a time allocated every day where students can collect Pocket Money from the Course Director or other senior members of staff.
